Michigan DNR Free Fishing Weekend

For two days, all fishing license fees are waived across Michigan. Residents and out-of-state visitors alike can enjoy fishing on both inland lakes and Great Lakes waters for all species of fish — no license required. It's the perfect weekend to try fishing for the first time or get the whole family out on the water. All standard fishing regulations still apply. A Recreation Passport will NOT be required to enter state parks and boating access sites during the Free Fishing Weekend, so it's an easy, no-cost way to spend the weekend outdoors.
