About the event

Jackson First United Methodist

Church will host a free Mother & Son Dance, offering a warm and welcoming evening focused

on connection, joy, and shared memories. The event is intentionally scheduled alongside the

city’s Daddy & Daughter Dance, providing a meaningful opportunity for mothers and sons to

enjoy a special night together.

Designed to be relaxed and family-friendly, the Mother & Son Dance invites families to come as

they are. The evening centers on presence and relationship rather than formality—encouraging

quality time, laughter, and moments that last well beyond the night itself.

“In a world that moves way too fast, this is a chance to slow down and create a memory that

sticks,” said Joe Finley, Director of Family Ministries.

The event is open to mothers and sons of all ages and is free to attend. No prior registration is

required. Light refreshments and music will be provided, and the church will be transformed into

a cozy, celebratory space for families to gather.

The Mother & Son Dance reflects Jackson First’s ongoing commitment to supporting families

and creating meaningful moments that help strengthen relationships and build community.
